The suspect in yesterday’s incident was identified as Mark Edward Hill, DOB 11/14/78.

He was released from the San Francisco General Hospital after receiving treatment for minor injuries sustained from the collision. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail at approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning for the following:

CVC 10851(a). Possession of Stolen Vehicle

PC 245(c), Felony Assault on a Peace Officer

CVC 2800.2(a), Evading a Peace Officer

CVC 20001(b(1), Felony Hit and Run

CVC 23153(e), Felony Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance

HS 11377(a), Possession of a Controlled Substance

PC 12022.1, Committing Felony While Out on Bail

Hill was also under investigation for multiple cases of commercial burglary and vehicle theft throughout the Bay Area.


RECAP: The suspect in today’s early morning incident was identified as a 36-year old white male adult that resided out of San Francisco. At this time, he is still under observation at a local hospital. More information will be released upon him being booked into the San Mateo County Jail for charges, which include CVC 10851(a), Possession of Stolen Vehicle; PC 245 (c), Felony Assault on a Peace Officer; and CVC 2800.2(a), Evading a Peace Officer. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be added. The three occupants of the victim vehicle include a 43-year old female, a 20-year-old male and a 16-year old male, who are still under observation at a local hospital. More details will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, at approximately 1218 a.m., an officer was patrolling the residential area of 1300 Isabelle Circle in Colma when an occupied suspicious vehicle, a Mack Truck, was located in the area and determined to be stolen out of San Francisco. A felony car stop was initiated, with the suspect attempting to ram the patrol vehicle in order to flee. The patrol officer was able to reverse and escape danger and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled through South San Francisco and Daly City, where the suspect collided into an occupied vehicle, causing injury to multiple occupants. The suspect attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained from the collision.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and will be booked into the San Mateo County Jail upon release from the hospital.

The Daly City Police Department was assisting at the scene of the collision at Mission and Flournoy Streets in their jurisdiction and will be conducting the collision investigation.
