Halloween Traffic Advisory and Safety Tips

It’s almost time for the little ghosts and goblins to come out in search of treats. We want everyone to have a safe and Happy Halloween! Please take a minute to review the following traffic advisory and safety tips to ensure you and your family stay safe while trick-or-treating.

Traffic Advisory:

There will be NO northbound traffic on Clark Avenue on Halloween night between 6-9pm. Traffic will be one-way only, southbound only.

Safety Tips:

If you plan to drive during trick-or-treat hours, drive slowly and watch for children. Be sure to enter and exit driveways carefully.

Make sure costumes and candy bags or pails are reflective. Costumes shouldn’t drag too far on the ground to avoid tripping, and masks, hats, and shoes should be well-fitting. Carry flashlights or glow sticks for extra visibility.

Children under 12 should go with a trusted adult. Older children should go in groups and say together.

Report suspicious activity and emergencies. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Avoid candy that has loose wrappings, is completely unwrapped, has puncture holes, or is homemade and not factory-wrapped. Small children should not be allowed hard candy, which could be a choking hazard.

Be safe and have fun!
